Hello, World! Maven Builds back with more news and updates on Harvest Fall. So, I feel developments been sped up lately. The game now has a splash screen (which lasts for 5.4 seconds and not the 3 seconds I mentioned in an earlier devlog), a rudimentary placeholder main menu, some music, sound effects for button clicks, the player’s house with some decorations and of course, the player.

Splash Screen.

Placeholder main menu.

Player’s House and Player (Subject to change). Notice the TV, bed, house plant, mat, wooden floor and wall, and the player.

I thought I’d give the player a nice little jacket for aesthetic purposes. I’m also thinking of adding a door on the wall through which you can go into another story or the house.

I’m currently working on the player’s walking animation. There’s a bit of a problem with the player’s legs and the frames but I’m sure there’s a solution!

I’ll soon begin work on outside; where everything, you know, happens. I’m considering making the camera follow you contrary to my original plans and that plain screen will soon get updated with HUDs such as your health bar, clock with the date and time, money, and more. ‘Bits’ was the original currency but I’m coming up with another name. I was told by a beta-tester that the symbol of Bits looked kind of like that of Bitcoin, which I didn’t see before but do now.

For music, I'll leave some as downloadable files so you can hear them.

Well, that’s it for this devlog! Thanks for reading, as always. I’m glad to finally show screenshots related to the game’s actual development. Stay alert for the next devlog and also for Harvest Fall’s early access on Itch.io!
